This Off-Centre Chuck Set is threaded onto the lathe head spindle and then a scroll chuck is threaded onto it (face).The material you are turning is mounted onto the scroll chuck. The amount of degrees off centre you cut is determined by the number of turns applied to the cross screw.

Turning a three sided workpiece- place a piece of masking tape around the circumference of the jaw on scroll chuck Mark the tape at 0 and measure the circumference and divide by the number of sides you are creating.

Turning a pen blank- To turn a pen on mandrel, round it on a mandrel and shape the ends to size before off-centre turning the sides. Use a mandrel with appropriate bushings to lock in place.

Turning a bottle stopper- Drill the appropriate hole for 3/8" thread for mounting your blank. Screw and tighten using a Stopper Mandrel. Screw the mandrel into one of the four holes, then screw the balance bolt with nut into the opposite hole. Use the centre hole to go back on centre without using the balance bolt and nut.
